Case Study | A New Take on Faux Greenwalls

Completely custom designed, this faux greenwall is a new and unique take on plant walls.

When our client came to us looking for a way to bring greenery into their space without overpowering their beautifully designed tiled wall, we knew we had to think outside the box. The solution? A custom tray system filled with lush faux plants, arranged in a sleek, modern pattern that brought the perfect balance of nature and design. This resulted in a show-stopping, maintenance-free greenwall that looks alive and thriving—without taking over the entire wall.

Design Concept & Customization

Forget the typical solid greenwall—this project was all about creativity. Instead of a full wall of plants, we designed a series of stylish trays filled with hand-selected faux greenery, arranged in a dynamic, geometric layout. The result? A fresh, full, and layered look that keeps the original wall tiles in the spotlight while adding a vibrant touch of nature.

Sleek, simple trays fit seamlessly into the design, ensuring a harmonious blend with the surrounding architecture. The faux plants were carefully selected to mimic the natural depth, texture, and variety of a living greenwall, offering the benefits of biophilic design without the need for watering, trimming, or upkeep.

Installation & Execution

GrowUp’s design and installation team made a trip out to the site to install the trays, adjusting and arranging the trays to create a balanced greenwall. Once the trays were mounted on the wall, our designers arranged and secured the faux plants to create variation, ensuring a natural and organic look. The result was a sophisticated, low-maintenance solution that met the client’s aesthetic and functional needs.

The greenwall not only elevates the space’s ambiance but also contributes to a more inviting and relaxing environment. Employees and visitors alike appreciate the biophilic touch, reinforcing the value of greenery in interior spaces.

Conclusion

This custom faux greenwall project proves that biophilic design can be as bold and creative as you want it to be. By mixing modular trays with stunning faux plants, we created a completely unique feature that enhances the space in a fresh, unexpected way.
