These positive effects are quantified, and the economic case studies are summarized. The three categories of biophilic design are identified. The WELL Building Certification standard, as it applies to biophilia, is defined, and moss walls are discussed in detail as an affordable way of incorporating biophilic design into interior environments.
Learning Objectives:
- Learn what recent science demonstrates regarding human behavioral response to natural environments and stimuli, and how biophilic design profoundly affects the well-being and overall profitability of humans in the modern built environment.
- Learn to recognize the three categories of biophilic design, and biophilic design patterns and elements.
- Learn what the WELL Building Standard specifies about biophilia and biophilic design elements.
- Learn how moss walls may be used to incorporate biophilia into interior environments and about moss wall specifications.
